Results in our Notion dashboard

Welcome to our second newsletter!

Last week, we asked you to fill out a form to help us better understand your needs and to shape our roadmap.

If you haven’t filled out the form yet, there’s still time! We’d love to hear your thoughts. Just click here to participate.

As a fellow researcher, you might be interested in our survey results. That’s why we’re sharing them with you now.

In this newsletter, we’ll break down the key insights we gathered and, at the bottom, share our conclusions regarding the roadmap.

From all 105 sign-ups:
77% opened our newsletter (an excellent engagement rate I must say)
38% clicked the link to the form
78% of those who clicked went on to complete the form

We’ve gathered valuable insights from your responses. If you took the time to share your thoughts, thank you for that! Your feedback is directly influencing our roadmap.

So what is the outcome of our research?

1. What design tool do you primarily use for prototyping?

Among the options (Figma, AdobeXD, ProtoPie, Sketch, Marvel, and 'other') 92% of you use Figma. Ok, that doesn’t come as much of a surprise.

The runners-up were Adobe XD and ProtoPie, which were also mentioned. The good news is that all three (Figma, Adobe XD, and ProtoPie) will be supported in Appeteaser from launch!

2. Which tool do you prefer for storing all feedback?

Currently, all comments from user testers or stakeholders will be sent to an email address you provide during onboarding. But we know it would be much more convenient if feedback could be stored in a centralized place.

So, we asked about your preferred storage tools, and here’s what you said:

Google Sheets (70%)
And a good second Notion (54%)

3. What types of questions do you need to do thorough research?

We asked which types of questions you need for effective research, and here’s what came out on top:

• Multiple choice (70%)
• Rating scales (0-10) (54%)
• Simple open questions (46%)
(this will be included from the start)
• Yes/No questions (38%)

4. Do you have your own audience or user base?

We also asked whether you prefer to test with your own audience or you need an option as well to find new user testers within the app. This is what you answered:

  • 77% prefer testing with their own user base
  • 23% need both options

5. Which of the following future features are most important to you?

You shared your priorities for future features, and here are the top requests:

  • A/B testing capabilities (54%)
  • Dashboard with heatmaps (54%)
  • Session recordings (38%)
  • Custom app icon options (31%)

One great suggestion from a respondent was video summaries. We love this idea, and it’s now on our backlog as well!

How this shapes our roadmap

Based on your feedback, here’s what we’ll be focusing on:

MVP at launch

  • Support for Figma, Adobe XD and ProtoPie prototype links
  • Feedback will be sent via email
  • User testers and stakeholders will be able to submit open questions
  • Testing will be available with your own user base

This will allow you to complete a full feedback loop with your test participants.

Features we’ll focus on after launch, most likely in this order (though this may still change):

  • Google Sheets integration for storing feedback
  • Multiple-choice feedback options
  • Notion integration for feedback storage
  • A/B testing capabilities
  • Rating scale (0-10) feedback options
  • Dashboard with heatmaps
  • Session video recordings and summaries

One more thing we haven't mentioned yet: we’re also planning to add push notifications to notify you when testers or stakeholders submit feedback through the app.

For everyone who took the time to fill out the form, thank you! Your insights are making a real impact. We’ll be back next week with more updates in our third newsletter.

Have a great week!
